Spruce Island Development Corporation (SIDCO), established in 2004 by the Native Village of Ouzinkie, Ouzinkie Native Corporation, & the City of Ouzinkie is a 501(c)3 community development organization.

SIDCO works to develop and implement community-based strategies to promote economic opportunity, develop community infrastructure, and preserve our Alutiiq heritage.

WORLDWIDE

Alutiiq is the ancestral language of the Kodiak Archipelago, with deep connections to the languages of western Alaska. Like all languages, Alutiiq has changed over the centuries with the introduction of new languages to Kodiak, the adoption of a writing system, and the influences of educational systems.
